I own 2, and they’re the only ones I’ve carried since I was 15 (I bought the second ’cause I needed something big enough to slide a laptop into it, otherwise I’d still be at 1). I’m totally with you on higher-quality but fewer purses. I’d recommend choosing a bag that you’d be proud to carry even without the kids in tow! You don’t need a special stroller bag, just one that has hooks for a stroller handle (you can also buy the hooks separately). My husband’s Columbia messenger bag has also made it through a lot of travel and other abuse. I travel with one made by Fisher Price that has a great structure and is very durable. – I had a beautiful Skip Hop bag, but it really didn’t hold up very well. I’ve always been happiest buying a separate one that folds up and holds a diaper and wipes (diaper clutch), and it must have a wipe-able vinyl surface. – Changing pads that come with diaper bags are often not that great. – A washable wet bag for gross dirty clothes Do not underestimate how heavy this beast can get. – Big, deep internal pockets over elastic-top pockets – Easily accessible external pocket(s) for keys, phone, wallet I’ve gone through a handful of different diaper bags over the years, and here are the characteristics IO have found the most important/convenient: Here are the options….(and you can click on any of them for the links to more details!)… I was thinking of going with a striped bag….but there are a lot of options….so if you can give me any advice I’d love to hear it. I was hoping that maybe you guys could help me out. The only problem is – I don’t know what bag. The simple fact is….I clean lots of poop off booties and thighs and feet and hands and I will have a grown up diaper bag that looks great because it holds the most important thing in my world….the wipes and antibacterial gel □ My mind is made up. Dear Mickey, you are gonna get retired to the ‘box of stuff I may never need again but I will keep it just in case’. (and the two dudes that read this blog….hey Pappap!) And what ends up happening is I stand there….holding a cartoon themed diaper bag on one arm and a really pretty satchel on the other. They are amazingly sturdy, clean up nicely, always look so polished and put together. I usually end up spending in the $100-$130 range…which admittedly is a lot for most people but I find myself buying less so it actually works out to be about the same amount I would have spent in the long run on multiple, cheaply made, and soon-to-be-falling-apart bags. I look for sales and wait till I can buy handbags and totes that I always say “OH heck yes!” to when getting dressed. Now I have a clear no-cheaply-made-purse-protocol….and it totally works. A few years ago, a friend convinced me to invest in nicer handbags….things that I love….nothing synthetic because it falls apart….but classic well-made bags that are something I will love forever….and I took that to heart. Especially seeing as how I clearly am working on improving my handbag game. It was adorable and helpful and everything I needed it to be at Disney World….seriously….who knew that diaper bags were so convenient?! But now? Now I am ready to pull the trigger and get me a really pretty diaper bag. And I do not have a diaper bag….except for one….a Mickey Mouse diaper bag that I got on clearance at Walmart.
